Latest Beauty Buys

Hello!

& Happy Fathers Day!

I have had a long break away from my blog - so I have not been posting as much as what I hoped to have been. My blog has been on the back burner due to a busy schedule HOWEVER I am making the effort to update my old el blogo!

Last weekend I was shopping for Fathers Day Gifts in Edinburgh & much to my surprise I spent A LOT ! on myself instead. Which is always the case... when you have money and go in search of something for yourself - you find zilch/nothing!
Yet, the minute you shop on behalf of someone else is always when you see everything you want!

I live up in the highlands so I do not have much access to a lot of make up brands.
Unless I go online, search and buy which can be risque. The typical make up brands I come across are Bourjois/Revlon/Rimmel/Maybelline/Soap and Glory/Collection/L'oreal & more expensive brands such as Bare minerals/Nar's/Mac/LancĂ´me/Clinique I will find in Debenhams.

However the minute I visit a well known city like Edinburgh... I am like a little kid in a sweet shop! There is so much more to choose from!

I went in to Superdrug on Edinburgh's Princes St and came across MUA which comes across as a "cheaper" make up brand compared to the other well known high street brands. However this did not put me off I like to try new brands whatever the price.

I came across this MUA Mosaic English Rose blusher which looks amazing & has several different shades to help create the perfect shade for your complexion.

I love this Blusher! It was only £2.50 and for £2.50 it was worth it. This blusher reminds me very much of Soap and Glorys blusher with the highlighter. I definitely recommend this blusher - it goes on really light and lasts all day.

The other make up booth I went to in the Superdrug store was Make Up Revolution - honestly I did not have any clue these two brands existed until I visited this city.

. I came across this beautiful smokey eye palette called "Iconic Dreams" which cost £4.00 from Superdrug - the colours of the eyeshadows are beautiful. Filled with smokey purples and greens - it makes such a difference to the same old gold/beige/brown smokey eye palettes.

The eyeshadow itself I cannot fault it goes on well and I believe no one would be able to tell the difference from when I put this palette on to my usual urban decay. The only thing which I don't rate about this product is the cheap eyeshadow sponge brush. It does not work well or apply the eyeshadows on great at all.

The packaging looks sleak and great, shades are beautiful however Make Up Revolution should  ditch the eyeshadow sponge brush. I actually cleaned my current urban decay blending brush and used this when it came to applying this palette. I feel that if Make Up Revolution used a blending eyeshadow brush instead and added this to their products - this would benefit their palettes. Take a look of the "Iconic Dreams" palette below - so pretty:

If you have tried any new brands or come across any new products please let me know as I am always looking forward to trying out new products! Please leave comments below:

Instantly Ageless

Wow wow wow!

Excited to write this post as I am so lucky to get my hands on this stuff – Instantly Ageless is a jeunesse leading product in Anti Aging Technology.  I have seen this being advertised in Now Magazine and also in Vogue so could not wait to try it myself!
Instantly Ageless is  a powerful anti-wrinkle micro cream that helps diminish the signs of ageing quickly and effectively. This cream works just like Botox – except you do not have to inject any nasty needles into your face.
You apply this cream on to a clean dry face – pat on to the targeted areas which you would like to improve. Leave for 2-3 minutes and keep your face expressionless (watch your face lines disappear!!) and ta dah – you will get great results.
Please note the results are not permanent – this cream works up to 10+ hours so its great if you have a special occasion to go to or it’s the weekend and you want to go out look your best, a date, interview, business meetings – you get where im going.
Now don’t be thinking – this is just for someone with wrinkles. Im young and don’t have any so this doesn't apply to me? Let me stop you there - because its not just an " anti wrinkle cream " it has plenty of other benefits too:

·         It firms up any saggy skin - so any baggy eyes will look dramatically different

·         Erases the appearance of dark circles

·         Minimizes the appearance of pores

·         Mattes skin for a flawless look

·         Helps to even skin texture

·         Targets areas which has lost elasticity – lifts skin

·         Conditions skin

·         Visibly reduces the signs of aging

I have been trying and testing this cream out on my Dad who to be fair doesn't have a lot of
wrinkles, he is pretty young at the age of 44 however after he applied this cream it took years
off his skin. I am only 22 so I have been using It for reducing the appearance of pores and
matting my skin for a flawless look with my make up.

This can be worn with or without make up. The cream itself comes in a 0.6ml Vial – which is handy as you can pop those in your handbag or wash bag and they are easy to carry around anywhere. In a 0.6ml vial you get 2-3 applications. I will post photos below so you can see the Vial and amazing results which Instantly Ageless can show:

Vans Cat Eye Sunglasses

So this week on my Instagram account I put up a picture of my latest sunglasses. Many of you asked where these were from - so I thought I would include these in this weeks blog post.
After a lot of fluttering eyelashes and "oh I really like those" … my lovely boyfriend must have taken the hint that I really liked these sunglasses, as when I went round to his house last weekend - he surprised me with these beauties. What a gem!
They are Vans Half Frame Cat Eye Sunglasses, I seriously love them & have had nothing but compliments when wearing them. Ever since last Saturday they have not been off  – apart from Wednesday... when Snow & Hailstones paid an unexpected visit - that's what you get for living in Scotland! One of the only places on earth where you can have sunshine & birds singing in the morning and then by mid-afternoon snow and hailstones - yes, even in April/May the weather is so unpredictable up here. Anyway enough of that boring weather woman chat - I have inserted a photo below of these sunglasses.

I love the style of these cat eye frame - it is always difficult trying to find sunglasses or glasses in general which actually cover my eyes never mind suit my face! They have a tortoise shell frame and have tinted glasses.
If you are wanting to grab yourself a pair – you could probably find them on their own Vans Website or you can buy them via the ASOS website. Greatest thing about these is the price - £15.00 which I think is a bargain for a decent pair of sunglasses. Im looking forward to using these more in the Summer months. Let me know what you think about them, in the comment box below!

L.O.N.D.O.N - L.O.V.E

Hello!
Extremely sorry for the lack of posts or updates. I have been very busy – away on a business trip to London last week and I wanted to show you some of the sights I came across whilst I was there. Even though I have visited London countless times for work before – believe it or not I have never actually got the chance to visit and enjoy London for some of its famous landmarks.
I took a tube to Waterloo Station and got off and walked towards the south bank at night. The atmosphere was great a lot of people were out for a night out or after having drinks after their work so it was very much a live! We walked towards the Hungerford Bridge and went to walk to our hotel down by the Southbank. All I can say is… Wow if you haven’t been down that way in London – please go, you will be amazed how there is so much to see on that route, everywhere I looked I seen a famous landmark. I am pretty sure this is where they always film the crucial slapping spots on Made In Chelsea – someone always breaks someone’s heart down there on TV!
We passed the E4 Udder Belly Comedy Festival which was there. Stopped to take lots of pictures – because I am pretty annoying like that- I take pictures of EVERYTHING! I always do as I love to look through pictures and relive those memories. Now I do apologise as my photos were taken at 9.30pm at night – so they are not the greatest quality! However please have a look at these below:

I was also fortunate to see the London Eye all lit up at night which was amazing, glowing in pinks and purple you could spot this for miles. Even when I was flying into London City I spotted Big Ben and the London Eye as we were flying over the city!
If you continue to walk down the Southbank past the London Eye you will come across the London Dungeons – Although I didn’t get the chance to visit, I think this would be really cool place to visit! I would imagine they would be really grim and scary with London having its historic past.
Looking over the River Thames you can see the Houses of Parliament and Mr Big Ben himself. I couldn’t help myself but take a selfie with him – unfortunately it is in the dark but luckily you can JUST make me out! The Westminster area of London is truly beautiful and if you want to go sightseeing or enjoy the wonderful sights of London City I definitely recommend visiting this area!

Biore Deep Charcoal Face Cleanser

My skin has been so so bad recently – I can only blame myself. My diet ever since Easter has been terrible, I was eating really well and working out a lot and then the chocolate bunny came and BOOM I fell off the healthy bandwagon. Not only have I gained weight I have also gained some hideous red scabby spots which im pretty insecure about – so I end up covering them in make up to try and disguise them and only ending up making them look even 10x worse and more irritated.

Recently I have heard a lot of health benefits from using activated Charcoal so when I spotted this Biore Charcoal Face Cleanser 200ml I thought this would be a really interesting buy - It was £4.99 from Tesco in the UK. Since buying it yesterday - I have already tried it 3 times and it feels so good. without giving it away It really does feel like it is making a difference. I found that if I took all of my make up off first with a facial wipe then the cleanser would be more likely to work my main bad areas that I needed it to – rather than the cleanser just working as a make up remover.

First of all you wet your face and neck area with water. All you need is one squirt from the pump – you don’t need much of this stuff in order for it to work. Also with one pump per use it means you aren’t wasting the cleanser.

Massage the charcoal cleaner gel gently into your face – work it into a foam and massage this cleaner into the key areas you want it to work on. I tend to get a spots in my t zone, nose and chin area so I have been focusing on those 3 areas. Once it has been applied you will definitely feel a tingly sensation.

Another bonus is It smells so good it has menthol added to it – hence the tingly feeling. So after applying to my face, smelling my own face - I then wash it all off thoroughly from my face and neck. After you dry your face from using this product you will instantly feel how clean your face feels. It is oil free so it great for people who have oil combination in their skin, this cleanser helps draw out dirt and also purify your pores.

I have read other reviews where people have gone on to say they notice such a great difference in their skin within 3-4 days their blemishes are practically gone so I am really looking forward for seeing what the next couple of days has to come. I definitely recommend this product my skin feels so clean, I am going to be implementing this twice a day in to my daily routine. I am so excited to see the results in a few days’ time! If you have tried this product let me know what you think of it and what results you seen! I will leave a link below if you also fancy trying a new cleanser.

I spent a little too much...

Hello there!

You are my current excuse for skipping the gym today – I know that’s very bad! I only have myself to blame whilst I sit here writing this blog and eating my weight in chocolate! I hope you are having a lovely Sunday wherever you are in the world!
Yesterday I may have slightly over indulged myself with clothes, skincare, coffee and accessories
I went into town with the intention of getting myself a blazer for work… Instead I ended up with £50 worth of Primark purchases, £25 HM purchases, £20 worth of Tesco buys too. So I feel like I have spent a fortune this weekend
To make up for  my guilty conscious it I thought I would show you some of my Saturday spends...

The Simpsons Pyjamas - Primark
My sister was obsessed with The Simpsons back in the day. I had to endure endless hours of Homers “doh”s and Nelsons “HA HA” so the minute I seen these Pyjama bottoms I just had to buy them. Although they were a pain to put up with back in the day – they are now a novelty to me as it just reminds me of memories with my little sister!

These PJ bottoms were £7.00 from Primark – I think they are new in so check them out

Polka Dot Divided Dress – H&M
H&M had a sale on when I was in store yesterday so I came across this peter pan collared tea dress and it is so cute! Its navy with white polka dots - I feel so girly in it!

This was originally £14.99 down to £7.00 in the sale which I was pretty chuffed about… oh and I also bought a black work blazer or work from H&M. This was also in the sale down from £29.99 to £15 BARGAIN!

Aztec Make Up/Toiletries Bag - Primark
This picture of the makeup/toiletries bag does not do it justice! It is HUGE! I actually don’t know what I was thinking at the time because I don’t know how im ever going to be able to fill this bag up.

I fell in love with the Aztec print and I love Yellow and Black/Grey I think they really work well together. This was a spontaneous buy – not to worry it was only £4.00 from Primark which is great. I think this toiletries/makeup bag would be great if you are going on your holidays and you need to pack as much as possible for looking your best whilst you’re away!

Reeses Creamy Peanut Butter – Tesco
I LOVE peanut butter – it has only been within the last 2 years I have come to really appreciate it. I also love Reese’s anything – chocolate cups, chocolate bars, chocolate pieces you name it! They are one of my favourite chocolate brands. So when I seen this in the World Foods section in Tesco I just had to buy it.

It was the last one too and when that happens I always think its fate that its been left there for me to say “BUY ME, BUY ME”. I kind of got told off this morning by my boyfriend for it not being a healthy peanut butter choice but hey - you only live once. This was £3.49 from Tesco in the world food section - I also had it with some yummy pancakes! MMMMMM.

I know this doesn’t really do justice or show off all of what I bought however I did buy a lot of bits and bobs, presents and food for my boyfriend too. I bought him a really cool “Better Call Saul” t-shirt from Primark which was only £8.00 – we both love that programme.
Over in the Uk we got the chance to watch it via Netflix – so every Tuesday after work I would go straight to my boyfriends just so we could watch it together! I love it and cant wait for it to come back on later in the year! I hope you are all having a fab weekend! Please feel free to leave any comments or add me on Bloglovin – via the funky looking lady to the right! x

Shops to visit in New York City

Hello! Hope you are all well!
This is a follow up post to my 40 Things to Do / Places to Visit in New York City.
If you are looking for some ideas or shops to visit whilst you are in New York City. Check out the list below - these are based on my travels to NY. Hopefully the list can expand if I get the chance to visit the City again soon - let me know what you think!

1.       Saks – When I visited Saks on Fifth Avenue I felt like I was in another world. The interior and architecture of the department store is amazing and I did fall in love with a Chloe handbag that I will most likely never be able to afford – beware you will get envy of the rich!
2.       Tiffany and Co
3.       Apple Store
4.       Toys R Us – Times Square this is the biggest Toy shop I have ever visited it was amazing! If I was a little kid again I would think this was the most amazing place in the whole world and never want to leave. It is that awesome it even has a big wheel inside which you can take a ride on!
5.       Bloomingdales
6.       NBA Store – One cool ass shop so much we visited several times whilst we were in New York. The staff are so friendly and amazing!
7.       Sephora – ladies & gents this store is make up heaven, in my head this store is like the candy floss all dancing and singing unicorns fluffy baby kittens universe. Its heaven on earth! I dragged my poor boyfriend round this shop god knows how many times. I definitely recommend if you are travelling from a far to NYC definitely keep money aside for Sephora. You will find make up and skin case/cosmetics that you will never find in any UK Store! If I could win the lottery and move to NYC id be looking to buy a flat above Sephora… and maybe a Dunkin Donuts… both of those would be extremely handy!
8.       Footlocker – If you visit these in NYC I can guarantee you will come home with the sweetest new pair of trainers nobody back home will have.
9.       Kate Spade – Im going to admit I stupidly didn’t buy anything in here although I did browse. I was so keen on buying a Michael Kors handbag from Macys that I thought I would be clever &  not to spend in KS and save my money aside and not to splash out in Kate Spade - so I waited until the last day (which was thanksgiving) to buy the MK bag which turned out to be a massive fail as silly little me forgot that shops are closed on thanksgiving – so not only did I miss out on getting my Michael Kors bag but I also missed out on buying Kate Spade beauties at the time too. Guys – please don’t be as silly as me! BUY whilst you can! Kate Spade shop is so pretty when you are in there you are oh my god-in at EVERYTHING! Your eyes are all over the shop because everything is so beautifully laid out and sparkling away. I need to go back to fully indulge myself in Kate Spade!
10.   Macys – I think on our second visit to NYC we must have visited Macys nearly every day this store has everything you could think of! We found ourselves buying a lot from here! When we visited it was all decorated for Thanksgiving and Christmas and had the Christmas toy section in store – it felt like the movie Elf! Was just amazing and one of the coolest things that I find taking away from this shop is the vintage wooden escalators if you go to the top floors between eighth and ninth you will see the old vintage wooden escalator which are over 100 years old!
11.   The Lego Shop – They have several Lego shops in NYC we went to the one opposite Madison Sq Park which I believe is a newer Lego shop as it wasn’t there when we went in 2013.  Again a lot more newer products in this shop than what we would find elsewhere. This shop is great for little kids and even big kids… Either way they will love it!
12.   H&M – you will find a bunch of these dotted around the city and even wherever you live. You may be like? Err I can visit one at home... Yes you can you are right – but you will find awesome pieces that aren’t yet out where you are from. I remember coming home showing my family (one whom works at H&M) and she hadn’t even seen this piece of clothing yet so just goes to show you. You will find brand new garments elsewhere
13.   Forever 21
14.   Disney Store
15.   Lush
16.   Schwarz Toy Store
17.   Armani Exchange
18.   Louis Vuitton
19.   Midtown Comics – if you are a MARVEL geek like me! Check this place out!
20.   Christian Louboutin
21.   Wholefoods Market – we visited the one at Union Square it was really busy it being Thanksgiving the next day however we fell in love with this shop. Shops nearby where I live don’t have any organic vegan whole food shops. Around here we just have well known branded uk supermarkets. You will see in my other blog posts that I have in fact visited Whole Food Markets in the UK since then. There is only ONE in my country – can you believe that? Anyway this was where we initially found Wholefoods, first time we ever visited one and it was in NYC and we loved this place. Eating out (because let’s face it, you do it constantly when you are on holiday) by the 4th/5th day eating processed food can become sluggish because there is so many fast food outlets or you find yourself eating the same thing you just had for your Lunch – if you feel like that I definitely recommend visiting this place. They have food that you can take away and its all 100% healthy so you will feel a lot better for it!
22.   Nike store – so cool. I love looking at all of the different Nike shoes that America have out before the UK. I remember buying Lunarglides like 6 months before they came out in the UK it was awesome having something that people looked at and wanted to know “where are they from” “where can I get them”. The shop assistants in this Store on Madison Ave are so friendly and every time I’ve visited this place they have been so helpful!
23.   GAP – I don’t know about you but GAP in the UK sadly doesn’t seem to excite me. GAP in the USA however is a different story. I found myself picking up lots of presents for bringing home to my family when I was on holiday there. They had warm colourful garments all ready for Christmas. My family couldn’t believe the presents were actually from GAP. It is crazy how you can walk past a store so much in the UK and not pay any attention to it yet you will find yourself shopping from there elsewhere in the world?
24.   Vint and York – glasses/frames extraordinaire!
25.   Make Up Forever
26.   Shen Beauty
27.   Adidas Originals Store
28.   Barneys New York
29.   Urban Outfitters
30.   Topshop

If you have any recommendations for shops to visit whilst you are in New York - please let me know and I will make a note to check those out next time I go to visit the city. I hope you enjoyed my post! and if you haven't had the chance already please scroll down to see my other post on NYC - 40 Things to Do / Places to visit in New York City! Much love, xxx
